Matthew has earned the designations of CPFIM and CPFA from the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada, MICPT from the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association, and CFIP from the Fixed Income Academy.
He has more than thirty years of experience working for municipal government and nonprofit entities. He specializes in finance and treasury functions, including investments, cash flow, cash management, tax, risk management, and debt management.
At the state level, Matthew has served on the Board and as President of the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association, and was presented with their PRIME Award for professional excellence, distinguished community involvement, and outstanding service.
Internationally, Matthew has served on the Board and as President of the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada, and was presented with their Dr. Jackson R.E. Phillips Award for significant contributions to the field of treasury management.
He has also served as a voice for municipal treasurers on the MML’s Municipal Finance Committee and SEMCOG’s Local Government Revenue Task Force.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Business Administration with Distinction, both from the University of Michigan.
